PLEASE READ THE UPDATED SHIPPING CHANGES

1.Processing & Shipping Times:

PLEASE DOUBLE CHECK THAT YOUR SHIPPING ADDRESS IS CORRECT INCLUDING UNIT/APT NUMBERS.

We ship only within The United States from New Jersey.

  • We ship all plants on Mondays/Tuesdays to avoid your plant being stuck at the post office over the weekend.

  • If your plant was purchased on a Monday before 3pm, we will try to have it shipped out the same day or the following Tuesday.

  • If a holiday falls on a Monday, it will be shipped the following Tuesday.

  • It can take up to 3-7 business days to process an order.

  • We do not ship plants to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico or Internationally at this time on this website

    • Alaska and Hawaii customers can purchase our non-plant items via our Etsy only at this time

2.Shipping Methods:

USPS Priority Mail 1-3 Business Days

  • Plant orders only will be shipped on Monday and Tuesdays standardly with USPS priority mail 1-3 Business Days.

  • We do NOT ship plants using any order method other than USPS Priority Mail. Non plant orders are shipped every other day.

USPS Priority Mail Express 1-2 Business Days

  • This is a shipping upgrade you can add to your cart to upgrade tour shipping to USPS Priority Mail Express 1-2 Business Days. This ensures your plant arrives the fastest and does not die in transit.

  • Your package will arrive next day or in 2 days maximum depending on distance from New Jersey.

  • You can add on a shipping upgrade here

Shipping costs are determined by processing fee and package weight including:

  • Plant(s) / Item(s) weight / Box weight and dimensions

  • Any additional items purchased

  • Packing materials and box (If your package becomes too heavy we will use multiple boxes)

  • Distance from New Jersey (West Coast shipping will be more expensive due to distance)

Please understand each package weights about 3 pounds and up once packed. This is to ensure your items are not damaged. We provide a lot of packing material to make sure the package is not going to get damaged in transit. Remember we are shipping a live plant to you, the more packaging the better so it will not get damaged.

You may receive multiple tracking numbers if we decide to ship your items in multiple boxes.

We use a real time USPS shipping calculator to determine ALL shipping costs to each state. Please be advised USPS has recently increased shipping rates due to inflation.

All purchases are subjected to your state’s sales tax.

4.Cancellations:

Cancellations can only be made BEFORE the item has been shipped. We ship plants every Monday & Tuesday. All non-plant items ship everyday except Saturday and Sunday.

We cannot cancel orders once they have been shipped out.

If you need to cancel an order, please contact us immediately.

5.Returns & Refunds:

We do not accept any returns on plants. We only accept returns for non-plant items & merchandise.

Non-plant items and Merchandise Returns/Damaged Items:

  • To make return any non-plant items, the customer has 7 business days to make the return based on the delivery date. We will not accept returns after the 7 business days.

  • To make a return, all items cannot be used and in their original packaging. Merchandise items cannot be worn or washed.

  • If you would like to return any non-plant item/merchandise, please contact us and we will set up a return label for you to ship the items back to us. The customer is required to pay all return shipping costs. Once items are in our possession, we will process the refund back to the original payment method.

  • If you have a damaged non-plant item/merchandise, please contact us and will send you a replacement item(s).

  • The customer is required to send photos of the damaged items for returns/refunds.

  • All returns can be shipped via USPS only.

Plant Refunds:

  • We will ONLY consider a refund to the original payment method if the plant is DEAD ON ARRIVAL.

  • Yellowing leaves is NOT considered dead on arrival. That is considered plant stress from being shipped.

  • Please be advised we will not be providing refunds to any customer during the cold season who did not purchase a heat pack for their order.

  • We will not accept refunds/cancelations on plants that have already been shipped or delivered successfully.

  • Purchasing a plant with us means you are completely aware of the risk of shipping a plant and the stress it can cause.

  • You have 12 hours of the tracking stating delivered to make a return and we will refund the order. Please contact us ASAP if you have any issues with your plants.

We will not accept returns:

  • Delays with USPS - We are not responsible for the plant once it leaves our location. That is the risk you are taking by purchasing a plant online. You are responsible for your own tracking information. If you have an issue with USPS delivery, you will need to contact USPS and input a claim with them.

  • Customer fails to provide photo/video proof of dead plant within 12 hours of tracking stating delivered.

7.Local Pick Up

We are currently not doing local pick up at this time.

6.Department of Agriculture (California Residents):

The Department of Agriculture in California have been requesting to open and inspect a lot of plant packages. If this happens, we will contact you via the email on the order and advise your package has been detained for inspection. We currently do not have a lot of information on which towns/cities but it has been happening more often. This may have never happened to you in the past, but it can happen in the future.

Usually this is a quick routine check to make sure there are no invasive pests in the package coming from the East Coast. Once they are finished with inspection they will sort the package back into regular mail. There may be a chance where the Department of Agriculture completely returns the package back to us and will request a state Phytosanitary Certification. If that happens, unfortunately there is nothing we can do and we will refund your purchase.

3.Winter and Cold Weather Shipping Policy:

Heat Packs & Thermal Insulation are available add on items you can purchase for your order in case your state is experiencing extreme weather conditions.

  • HIGHLY recommended for states 40 degrees and below.

  • As a customer, you purchasing a plant during the winter months is at your own risk. We are NOT responsible for any cold damage.

  • Please be advised we will not be providing refunds to any customer during the cold season who did not purchase a heat pack for their order.

  • Purchasing a plant during extreme weather means you agree 100% to our terms.

  • If you notice that the week the plant is being shipped your state is going to have extreme weather, contact us immediately to reschedule your shipment date.

  • You are responsible to add the heat pack/insulation to your cart for it to be included in your order.

  • If you forgot to add your heat pack/insulation, simply just order it separately and send us an email to include it. We will adjust the costs and fix the order.

Things to keep in mind:

  • All packages are kept in a weather controlled USPS distribution office while not actively in transit once picked up.

  • Packages can be in cold conditions during transit through multiple states.

  • Heat packs last 72 hours before they run out, it will keep the plant warm for a few more hours as it wears off.

  • Thermal Insulation includes us wrapping each plant in your order

  • Each package has a ton of packing materials to keep the plant warm during transit.

8.Merchandise (Non Plant Merchandise) - Shipping Information:

Everything in the Merchandise Shop for sale will be processed, fulfilled and shipped via a third party. You will receive your merchandise orders separately than your plant orders since we are not shipping them here at Plant Life Lex Studio. This helps our team focus on plant shop orders and allows professionals to create and ship the merchandise to you.

If you order Merchandise and anything else on the shop in one order(plants, plant pots, moss poles etc), you will receive two(or more) tracking numbers. One for your plant packages from our team and additional for your Merchandise items. Merchandise usually is processed and shipped out within 1-3 business days but can take longer due to volumes and holidays and weekends. Your Merchandise orders will ship separately and be in their own box. The package will be very minimal to reduce waste! You will only pay one shipping fee on your orders so no worries about paying double shipping costs. Merchandise orders including multiple items may arrive in separate boxes and at different times due to multiple printing facilities and stock volumes.

Every single Merchandise piece is custom and made to order to prevent over production. Once an order is placed, it is send to processing and then created. If you need to cancel your merchandise order you have 24hours to contact us at @plantlifelex@gmail.com. We cannot cancel an order once the item has been created and shipped.

We do not accept returns on Merchandise. If you have any issues with the merchandise you ordered such as shipping delays, lost packages, misprints etc please contact us immediately and we will work with you and the company to solve the issue.

9.Plant Life Lex FAQ’s:

How are plants shipped?

Your plant will be wrapped in paper/cardboard with lots of cotton to protect the leaves. You can add a heat pack and insulation to your package for the colder months. Check out how we package and ship plants via YouTube

Where are you shipping from and where do you ship to?

We ship from South New Jersey and ship plants only within the USA - excluding Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico. We do not ship internationally at this time.

What conditions are the plants being grown in?

  • Plants will be shipped in our Soil Free Aroid Potting Mix, Perlite or Fluval Stratum. This is always specified in the item description.

  • Once your receive your plant in Perlite or Stratum, you can transfer it to any potting medium you would like.

  • If a plant description mentions that it is a ‘Starter Plant’ this means the plant is a semi-rooted propagation.

  • If a plant description motions that it is ‘Rehab/Cosmetic Damage’ this mean the plant is overall healthy but has some ugly features. Can be leaf damage, a barely/semi rooted plant or discoloration. Usually not a full established plant which is why it’s considered a rehab. Please read the plant description before purchasing.

  • All plants are being grown under grow lights and in consistent 70 percent humidity.

  • All plants are grown in our Soil Free Aroid Mix or in a Semi Hydroponics Environment.

What should I do once I receive my plant?

  • Carefully unpack your plant, take your time and be mindful of all the tape.

  • Please do not repot your plant right away - give it a few days since it has just shipped and is already having stress

  • If the plant substrate looks like it’s dry - give it some water and leave it in a warm bright spot

  • If the plant substrate looks like it’s moist - let it dry out before giving it some water and leave in a warm bright spot

  • Yellowing leaves are NORMAL and can happen due to shipping stress

Why is my Soil Free Aroid Potting Mix Bag not completely full?

The bags are based on product weight. The amount of product is weighed and then placed in the bag. Smaller amounts of products will not fill the bags completely.

Can I see a picture of the mother plant?

You can always ask for a picture but 99 percent of our plants are purchased as is in wholesale and we do not have photos of the mothers.

How do I care for my new plant?

We recommend you ALWAYS do your own research on plant care prior to purchasing plants. Different things work for different environments.
